Join us on 27–28 August 2026 at the Congress Center of the Verkehrshaus for two inspiring days dedicated to innovation in spine care. Set on the shores of Lake Lucerne, this year’s meeting offers the perfect blend of scientific excellence, international exchange, and a welcoming summer atmosphere.

Theme 2026: “Asia Meets Switzerland: Building Bridges”

Leading experts from Korea, Japan and Taiwan on the one hand, and from Switzerland on the other will share new perspectives, techniques and developments shaping the future of spinal surgery. Expect insightful sessions, stimulating discussions and a program designed to broaden your view of global spine care. A blend of young and experienced surgeons from Switzerland and Asia promises a profound and stimulating exchange. The topics include lumbar and cervical spine surgery, vascular pathologies, complex revision surgery and endoscopy, and will be discussed from an Asian and Swiss perspective. The Asian free rapid-fire presentation will round off the program and is dedicated to robotics and AI in upcoming spine surgery.

The second part of the meeting will focus upon education and training in spine surgery in Switzerland. Especially junior spine surgeons are encouraged to present their research activities.

It is a profound honor to speak on behalf of spine surgeons from Korea, Japan, and Taiwan at this year’s meeting under the inspiring theme, “Asia Meets Switzerland.” I extend my deepest gratitude to the organizing committee for creating this meaningful platform where our regions can come together in true academic partnership.

Asia and Switzerland share a long tradition of excellence in spine surgery—rooted in scientific rigor, clinical innovation, and an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of our patients. Although our healthcare environments and patient populations may differ, our aspirations as surgeons and scientists are remarkably aligned.

This year’s program reflects the full spectrum of our evolving field. We are pleased to see not only the traditional foundations of cervical-to-lumbar spine surgery represented, but also the most rapidly advancing and transformative areas of innovation. Endoscopic spine surgery, AI-driven clinical applications, robotics-assisted procedures, and next-generation motion-preserving technologies such as artificial discs will all be actively discussed. These topics illustrate the remarkable dynamism and future direction of global spine care.

Particularly meaningful is the generous space dedicated to young spine surgeons from Asia and Switzerland. Their academic exchange, fresh perspectives, and collaborative spirit will undoubtedly become the driving force for the future of both the Asia Spine and the Swiss Spine Society. I strongly believe that the interactions fostered in Lucerne will lay the foundation for long-term scientific collaboration—joint registries, shared clinical trials, cross-continental fellowships, and guidelines informed by our diverse expertise.
